HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
 

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme was started during the year 1985-86 and is managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous organization under the department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

 
As part of the programme of action of the new education policy, 1986, Govt. of India launched the scheme under the pioneer of Shri. Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India to set up Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in all the districts of the country in order to provide opportunities to the children with special talents to proceed at a faster pace by making quality education available to them irrespective of their capacity to pay for it.
 
In Orissa 5 Navodaya Vidyalayas were established in the year 1986.JNV,hadagarh was one of them .Dr.B.N.Pandey ,the Governer of orissa laid the foundation stone of this Vidyalaya on 17.12.1987.The Vidyalaya is situated in 33 acres of land with a peaceful scenic environment sourrounded by hills & forests. The river SALANDI flows nearby and salandi dam is very close to the Vidyalaya.The place has unique importance for its splendid natural beauty and attracts a large number of tourist every year during the month of December and January.
 

In spite of various constraints students and staff of this Vidyalaya are marching ahead on the path of the progress to bring about not only academic excellence but also all round development of young buds.This JNV has been working as a pace setter in extending all sorts of guidance and co-operation to the nearby school. JnV ,Hadagarh though set up in a remote corner is always ahead of other schools in the district as regards academic achievement ,physical standard and cultural manifestations.
